Adjunct Instructor - Remote | WFH

An introduction to the evaluation, gathering, and writing of multimedia news. This course aims to familiarize students with journalistic processes and techniques, focusing on the creation and editing of diverse news stories, podcasts scripts, blogs, and newsletters.

Summary

We seek enthusiastic candidates with a strong background in Journalism and Digital Storytelling, preferably with experience teaching at the community college level. Desired skills include Video Content Creation, Media & Society, Journalism, Mass Media, and writing for Newsletters, Blogs, and Podcasts. Applicants should be comfortable teaching, remotely, and online is establishing a pool for future teaching assignments.

Position Definition

Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the adjunct instructor will deliver lectures, assignments, and assessments aligned with Journalism and Digital Storytelling course descriptions and schedules. Responsibilities include evaluating student progress, adhering to educational policies, and fulfilling instructional duties as assigned. Candidates should meet minimum qualifications and demonstrate flexibility in teaching formats (classroom, online, hybrid). Candidates currently active in the field are preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Demonstrated commitment to active learning and innovative teaching methods

Proficiency in Computer/Design Programs

Strong interest in mentoring community college students

Effective interpersonal, communication, and technology skills

Preferred Qualifications

Current engagement in relevant professional fields

Successful teaching experience at the college or university level

Familiarity with BrightSpace Learning Management System

Ability to engage students dynamically and integrate applied arts into curriculum

Salary: $1049.00 per credit.
