Job Description
We are seeking a per-course adjunct faculty member for the BILA 501 01 course (2 Units) for the Fall 2024 term. This course, taught primarily in Spanish, focuses on Methods and Materials in Spanish for bilingual teacher candidates. It aims to equip educators with the knowledge and skills to support the language, literacy, and content learning of emergent multilingual students in Spanish bilingual classrooms. The course covers the history of bilingual education in California, explores various bilingual program models, and emphasizes interdisciplinary instruction integrating content learning and language development in both Spanish and English.
Responsibilities
Teach BILA 501 Methods and Materials in Spanish
Engage students in research and theory on bilingual language and literacy development
Foster an inclusive and interactive learning environment
Prepare and deliver course materials in alignment with curriculum standards
Provide constructive feedback and support student learning outcomes
Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in a relevant field
Experience in teaching research methods
Prior Experience In Online Teaching Is Highly Preferred
