Live Oak Resource Partners (“Live Oak”) is a privately held Houston based company engaged in the acquisition and divestiture of mineral, royalty, and non-operated working interests.
Role and Opportunity
This is an opportunity to enter the mineral & royalty industry. Live Oak is looking for an Acquisition Specialist to assist in the acquisition of mineral and royalty interests. This individual's primary role is to generate new mineral and royalty acquisition opportunities through direct communication with landowners while coordinating internally to manage the acquisition for a successful closing. This is a high visibility role and reports to the Director of Business Development.
Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is executing high volume, direct to landowner phone communication to originate mineral and royalty transactions
- Negotiating acquisition terms
- Assistance in preparation of closing packages and other related documents
- Ownership of transactions; ensure success with timely execution and delivery on promises
Required Qualifications
- Less than 3 years of work experience
- High degree of comfort cold contacting landowners directly by phone
- Proficient with land management practices and terminology
- Understanding of basic division of interest calculations
- Familiarity with fundamental title and probate instruments (deeds, assignments, leases, affidavits, etc)
- Clear verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Land Management or 4-year degree from an accredited university with land experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of petroleum land management experience
- Prior sales / customer relations experience
- Some experience with Louisiana title, regulations, and laws
- Experience in Texas and Louisiana title
- Experience with mineral and royalty acquisitions strongly preferred, but not required
- Proficiency with DrillingInfo (Enverus) and regulatory websites preferred, but not required
