Job Summary

The Acquisitions Manager will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing content offerings for our products in their designated market/subject areas to deliver customer and business value within our core Infobase markets. Reporting to the Senior Director of Licensing Strategy, this role will be responsible for negotiating and executing licensing agreements, fostering relationships with key content providers, and driving content strategies to optimize product offerings. The Acquisitions Manager will collaborate cross functionally across sales, product, and marketing to support product enhancements and sales efforts to ensure customer satisfaction and growth.

Essential Functions

  • Source, evaluate, and select content for licensing from existing and new content partners in designated market/subject areas to support curricular needs.
  • Negotiate and execute new agreements to ensure a steady stream of new content into the products, and negotiate license renewals to ensure that high-value content remains available to our customers.
  • In consultation with the Senior Director of Licensing Strategy, plan content release schedules to ensure that the availability of new content aligns with business goals and customer needs.
  • Nurture existing relationships with content partners, and identify and establish partnerships with new content providers.
  • Maintain market awareness and conduct market research to identify content gaps, opportunities for stronger content alignment/positioning, and maintain awareness of competitors’ activities.
  • Analyze usage and performance trends to support licensing decisions, and perform gap analysis to support investment in new content areas.
  • Prepare metadata for content processing, including descriptive information and assigning pricing, taxonomy, rights, and platforms.
  • Act as a product champion and provide internal demos on best practices as well as regular content updates to sales teams.
  • Collaborate with other teams to support product enhancements, marketing messaging, renewals and new sales.
  • Collaborate on creating and launching new products for sale.
  • Assist CSM and Support teams with customer inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience negotiating licensing agreements.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with content providers, fostering collaboration for mutual success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.



Key Accountabilities/Metrics

  • Addition of content aligned to key customer requirements within budget.
  • Maintain a steady flow of new content into the products to drive sales growth.
  • Act as a product champion and provide ongoing support and training to support renewal business.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in contract negotiation, relationship management, and content licensing.
  • Experience in the education industry, ideally in the designated market/subject areas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
