Job Summary: The A/R Specialist is responsible for assisting with overview of collections and follow up on claim denials. This position is also responsible for supporting the A/R team with day-to-day challenges, and meeting collection goals.
Essential Job Functions
Follow up on unpaid claims
Answer day-to-day questions and provide support to team members
Ensure denials are worked within 7 business days
Follow up timely on claims
Identify and provide feedback on areas of opportunities
Lead focused efforts on A/R collections projects
Identify and escalate payer denial trends
Run reports as needed
Maintain A/R aging goals set by management
Other duties as assigned by your manager
Competencies
Outstanding communications skills, both written and oral
Experience in healthcare, at least one year
Attention to detail, and flexible work style
Understanding of payer policies, EOB’s and payer portals
Knowledge in appeals and escalating trending issues
Must be team player
Education And Experience
High School Diploma or equivalency is required
