Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Specialist to joinone of our cutting edge apparel clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the fashion industry. As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and collecting all outstanding accounts receivable from customers, ensuring timely payments and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and manage incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivable data.
• Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits.
• Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
• Verify discrepancies and resolve clients’ billing issues.
• Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
• Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status.
• Monitor and report on deviations from credit standards.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and financial audits.
• Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to ensure smooth and efficient payment processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Specialist or similar role.
• Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in the fashion industry is a plus.
