Accounts Payable Specialist

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST

A law firm client in Atlanta seeks an Accounts Payable Specialist for its accounting department. This role will handle full-cycle accounts payable processing, monthly reconciliations, etc.

Duties:

• Oversee full-cycle accounts payable processing, ensuring timely and accurate execution per company policies.
• Provide high-quality assistance and support to internal teams, and external vendors, and manage communication effectively.
• Organize and maintain firm overhead invoices, check requests, and client/matter invoices, securing necessary approvals and ensuring accurate accounting.
• Review and audit expense reports for proper GL coding, including corporate credit card expenses.
• Execute payments efficiently through various methods such as check, wire, and ACH via the bank platform.
• Independently manage month-end closing, reconcile accounts payable, and proactively address outstanding vendor invoice issues.

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounts payable or similar role
• Prior law firm or professional services experience preferred
• Proficiency with MS Office programs, including Excel, and legal software, like Elite or Aderant
• Professional communication skills
