Job Description Summary

The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for managing the Enterprise Community Development (ECD) accounts payable process and staff of up to four employees. This position works across all facets of ECD business and must have a good understanding of the business and be able to collaborate with all levels of management. This position requires organizational, analytical, computer skills, and the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast paced, team-oriented environment with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, effective member of the finance team.

Responsibilities

Job Description

  • Manage accounts payable functions of the organization, which includes overseeing staff charged with handling all aspects of the accounts payable process. Manager is in charge of ensuring all payments are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Prepare certain periodic reconciliations as required.
  • Support the VP Finance in driving process efficiencies in daily tasks, in the identification of process improvements through automation and in the cross training of employees.
  • Ensure a robust internal control environment is supported through the daily responsibilities. This includes maintaining various sections of the corporate accounting manual and other process or control documentation.
  • Serve as collaborative member of the Enterprise team that challenges status quo and strives for overall process improvements, working with other members of the team and organization, to make recommendations to improve business and communication processes to be more effective for the organization as a whole.
  • Effective management of corporate finance staff, as discussed below.
  • Supervise up to four employees.
  • Incumbent is expected to:
  • Model and ensure that all team members exhibit pride, drive and collaboration.
  • Manage direct report's performance by giving sufficient performance feedback and provide timely and thorough goal setting and reviews.
  • Actively encourage development of direct report employees and team members to promotable staff members.
  • Set team and individual goals and communicate departmental goals so that all employees understand the overall goals of their department and the company as a whole.
  • Address performance issues constructively and in a timely fashion.
  • Delegate responsibilities to Direct Reports and encourage Direct Reports to participate in special projects.
  • Develop team members to challenge the status quo and strive for overall process improvements, working with other members of the team and organization, to make recommendations to improve business and communication processes to be more effective for the organization as a whole.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • Minimum 5-7+ years’ accounting experience with at least 3-5 years' experience with accounts payable strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years supervisory management experience preferred.
  • Must possess strong financial, analytical, organizational, and quantitative skills, and ability to coordinate complex activities, prioritize conflicting demands and meet deadlines with a quality, accurate work product.
  • Must be highly motivated, be able to work independently and possess strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Incumbent is expected to demonstrate strong ethics, strong interpersonal and communication skills to represent the interests of Enterprise both within and outside the organization.
  • Knowledge of real estate terminology and concepts preferred; basic knowledge of financial services industry and LIHTC are desirable.
  • Proficient with Excel and Word and ability to quickly learn new software and systems required.
  • Experience with accounting systems required, experience with Workday and Yardi preferred.
  • Must demonstrate strong ethics and professionalism and understand how to work with confidential information.

  • The base salary for this role is $92,697 to $103,000, depending on level of skills and experience.
  • The salary range for this position is represented by the low and high end of the range for the amount to be paid for the position. Salaries paid at Enterprise will vary based on factors that may include skills, education, location, experience, and performance. The salary range is just a part of the total rewards package provided to employees at Enterprise, and other rewards may include annual performance bonuses and generous paid leave programs.
