Seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented individual to work in the Accounts Payable unit of the Accounting department of the New York office of a multinational financial services group based out of Spain.
Job Description:
Oversee the company’s accounts payable mail and email box to ensure all invoices are processed in the accounts payable system
Collaborate with the Procurement team in the onboarding process of vendors
Perform manual input of invoices into Workday
Review invoices against service contracts/purchase order to ensure they are no errors or missing data
Build a strong relationship with the Procurement team and service owners in order to ensure proper input and payment of invoices
Communicate effectively with vendors to address inquiries and resolve issues
Prepare and maintain an Excel spreadsheet to ensure invoices are received and input into the system on receipt
Update tracking to ensure payments are being reflected and aging is monitored
Prepare monthly reporting on aged invoices
Understand expense accounts and cost centers, assisting the Accounting team with the necessary posting of general ledger journal entries and preparation of reconciliation when required
Assist with audit support as necessary
Prepare Sales Tax review and 1099 Filings for the Tax Manager
Send out remittance notices to vendors for confirmation of payments
Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, etc.)
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, preferred but not required
Proven working experience as Accounts Payable Clerk
Experience with Workday accounts payable module preferred, but not required
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable functions
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas and macros), Word, and PowerPoint; and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Access
Well organized and detailed oriented
Quick learner, self-motivated, team player
Strong data entry skills
Great communication skills, as this job requires interaction/communication with multiple departments and vendors

With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $85,000 to $100,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
