Job Summary
The Accounting Manager will be a key player in our team, actively participating in the daily accounting functions and serving as a business partner as we continue to grow. This role involves managing all aspects of the accounting department, including financial transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial statement preparation.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a managerial role, with a background in multi-entity and multi-location environments. This individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate fiscal records, overseeing the company's accounting systems, and ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Primary Duties
Oversee accounting operations including customer billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, financial reporting, and payroll.
Record financial transactions and prepare financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential improvements.
Assist with tax preparation and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Develop and implement internal controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial information.
Maintain complete and accurate books and records for all legal entities, ensuring they are appropriately reconciled and supported by documentation.
Prepare GAAP financial statements, supporting schedules, and other operational analyses.
Document accounting policies and procedures, establishing documentation requirements to support underlying transactions.
Manage and develop the accounting team.
Foster a positive and proactive work environment, emphasizing respect for individuals, high standards of quality, customer service, innovation, and teamwork.
Basic Qualifications And Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited institution.
CPA preferred.
Experience in an accrual-based accounting environment.
Experience in an accounting leadership role.
Experience handling high-volume transactions and managing multiple locations.
Experience with credit processing transactions.
Proficiency with QuickBooks; experience with larger accounting systems is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated effectiveness in staff development, team building, and conflict resolution.
