ACCOUNTING MANAGER
HYBRID REMOTE - work from home; travel to subsidiary locations as needed (~20%-25%)

Polaris Search Group LLC has partnered with a fast-growing, privately-held company to assist in their search for an Accounting Manager to join their corporate Finance/Accounting team. This is a newly added position and a critical role needed to help manage growth. The person hired will initially oversee acquisition integration for a defined vertical market and through a fast promotion path, ultimately be responsible for the consolidations, reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting. and overall financial management for this ~$1 bilion PE backed company. This position is a blend of accounting, finance, and operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with corporate financial consolidations, financial reporting, and audits
• Provide guidance to Senior & Staff Accountants
• Work directly with acquired company’s accounting/finance team to transition to the corporate close procedures, help meet reporting requirements, provide needed commentary, and ad hoc analyses
• Work with acquired companies to ensure monthly close procedures are completed accurately, in accordance with GAAP, and on schedule
• Assist acquired companies with their annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, variance analysis, reporting, and commentaries
• Continually seek process improvements and efficiencies
• Develop and implement policies & procedures
• Build relationships with leadership members within each subsidiary
• Assist with annual audit preparations, reviews, and questions
• Serve as central contact for finance personnel within subsidiary companies to provide training, assist on an “as-needed” basis and answer questions
• Develop understanding and insights related to each subsidiary company and provide information needed by management team to make effective business decisions
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or economics; CPA, parts passed, or currently pursuing required
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
• Solid understanding of GAAP
• Public Accounting experience strongly preferred
• Ability to learn fast, possess strong business acumen, and continually seek improvements & cost savings
• Strong system skills including ERP systems and Microsoft Suite (Excel advanced capabilities)
• Ability to present financial data and/or processes to non-financial personnel
• Experienced working within cross-functional teams
• Solid budgeting/forecasting, reporting, and variance analyses experience
• Must be able and willing to travel ~20%-25% initially; travel will be less as new acquisitions are fully onboarded
