Accountants One is working with a pharmaceutical client to help them find an Accounting Manager. The U.S. Accounting Manager will directly support the U.S. Finance Director, in supporting the financial performance of the business and tax obligations. The AM will assist in the responsibility for the U.S. accounting and finance functions of the Group, including but not limited to the provision of all internal and external financial reporting, tax compliance, internal control, working capital, and cash management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manage the outsourced bookkeeping company performing the accounts payable function, including vendor maintenance, processing invoices, GL coding, preparing 1099’s for applicable vendors, W-9’s, ensuring invoices have proper approval, and check processing
Support month-end and year-end closing process
Manage the outsourced bookkeeping company performing various monthly reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets,
Prepare various reconciliations for but not limited to accounts receivable, inventory, and accrued liabilities
Responsible for preparation of account analysis of budget to actual with reconciliation to the general ledger
Prepare gross-to-net calculations and adjust accruals quarterly
Work with the third-party logistics provider regarding the Accounts Receivable function Assist in the preparation of U.S. budgets and forecasts
Work with outsourced tax service providers for federal, state, local, and nexus tax filings and compliance Process expense reports and review those expenses are within company guidelines
Identify and execute continuous improvements in accounting processes
Support accounting department with ad hoc special projects and other duties as assigned
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
BS or BA in Accounting from a four-year college or university
CPA required
Minimum 4 years in public and/or corporate Accounting with general ledger and technical accounting experience
Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry is preferred
Experience with ERP systems is required, NetSuite is preferred
Very good understanding of accounting, tax, treasury, internal controls, financial systems and processes
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment and to build collaborative relationships with peers and with other stakeholders
Less than 20%. Possible travel outside the U.S.
