The Accounting Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting department, including financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.
Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support for professional development.
Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors and providing necessary documentation and support.
Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic financial plans and initiatives.
Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
Oversee the management of general ledger functions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Ensure compliance with all tax filings and other regulatory requirements.
Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the accounting department.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or CMA certification required.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
High level of integrity and commitment to ethical standards.
Experience in Agriculture/Manufacture industry is a plus.
