We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Remote Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive support to our accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere with a reliable internet connection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Entry and Maintenance:
  • Accurately enter financial data into accounting software and spreadsheets.
  • Maintain and update records of financial transactions.
  • Ensure all financial data is current and accurately reflects company activities.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable:
  • Process invoices, verify their accuracy, and ensure timely payments.
  • Prepare and send out invoices to clients and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable and payable balances.
  • Bank Reconciliation:
  • Reconcile bank statements with company records.
  • Identify discrepancies and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements.
  • Generate and analyze financial reports for accuracy and compliance.
  • Payroll Support:
  • Assist in processing payroll, ensuring all employee payments are accurate and timely.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Communication and Coordination:
  • Communicate with vendors, clients, and team members to resolve issues and answer queries.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure the smooth flow of financial information.
  • Administrative Support:
  • Assist with the preparation of documentation for audits and tax returns.
  • Handle confidential financial information with discretion.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and procedures.
  • Implement new tools and technologies to enhance efficiency.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience:
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Technical Requirements:
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection.
  • Computer with necessary software and tools for remote work.
