Essential Duties

  • Prepare monthly journal entries necessary to record the sale of heavy-duty trucks
  • Calculate Federal Excise Tax associated with the sale of heavy-duty trucks and related equipment
  • Preparation of monthly commission calculations for salesman
  • Preparation/initial analysis of related balance sheet accounts/audit schedules
  • Assist in the Preparation and submission of monthly financial statements
  • Assist in preparation of monthly sales tax returns


Additional Duties

  • Provide support to the regional controllers and CFO as needed
  • Assist other Accounting Department teams in times of high demand
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education

  • Two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
