Accounting Assistant

SummitMedia, LLC, a multimedia company with broadcasting, digital, and event brands across multiple markets is expanding our team! We are looking for an experienced Accounting Assistant/AP Clerk who will focus on Account Payable/Accounts Receivable and other administrative duties related to the accounting and finance team.

This opening will be based in our corporate office in Birmingham, AL.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide accounting and clerical support
• Assist with data entry of Accounts Payable
• Verify financial data in Accounts Payable system
• Prepare checks for vendors on weekly and ad hoc basis
• Communicate with vendors regarding billing discrepancies
• Work closely with senior accountants to maintain accurate records
• Perform other duties as directed
  
  

Required Skills/Abilities

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and AR/AP accounting software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma
• Prefer at least one year of administrative or clerical experience in accounting and finance
