Accounting Analyst

Role Purpose:

Jumio has an immediate opening for a passionate and experienced Accounting Analyst to join its Accounting team for our Sunnyvale office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the company at a time of its rapid growth.

Role Value:

This is a high visibility role and reports to the Senior Accounting Manager. The Analyst will be a hands-on single contributor and will partner with the Senior Accounting Manager and support US, UK, Canada, and Singapore offices with their GL activities, as well as balance sheet accounts reconciliations. You will be a part of the global accounting team to participate in and manage month/year-end close processes, external audits, and internal controls compliance duties, as well as system implementations and process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of global general ledger in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Assist in managing global month-end and year-end close calendars
  • Prepare and review Journal Entries
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations including Cash, Fixed Assets, Leases, Intangibles, Prepaid Expenses, Other current assets, deferred rents, inter-company balances, and Accrued Expenses
  • Assist in Elimination, Consolidation, and Intercompany accounting
  • Partner with other teams within the Finance organization to manage EOM activities
  • Coordinate with international service providers for statutory compliance, tax return filings, VAT return filings, etc.
  • Provide required information for year-end tax provision and annual tax returns filings
  • Assist in managing business taxes and property taxes filings
  • Prepare intercompany journal entries, intercompany cost-plus bills, and funding
  • Proactively seek ways to improve processes to help reduce time to close, improve accuracy of the underlying accounting records, and create operational efficiencies
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties, as required
  • Work with external auditors to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of year-end audit
  • Collaborate and coordinate with various business partners to obtain required financial reporting information and develop improvements to the financial reporting process.


Relevant Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting
  • 3+ years’ experience managing similar duties in public and private companies
  • Experience working at a fast-paced company with the ability to meet various deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex matters in written and oral form
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and organize work independently
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, NetSuite experience preferred
  • Solid Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills

Compensation

  • The hiring range for this position is from $89,000 to $115,500. This is based on Jumio’s geographical salary band for the role.
  • Excellent benefits including medical and dental insurance health and wellness, peer recognition, flexible time off, and 401K match are also provided for all US employees.
