Fulton Rd., Ada, MI 49301 About this position:Baker Publishing Group is accepting applications for the position of Accounting Analyst to prepare, examine and analyze accounting and financial records, financial statements, costs and other financial reports for accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting standards. Duties:
Oversee staff expense reporting system, setup and utilization of corporate credit cards, and communication with the credit card company.
Organize and maintain accounting records in an accurate and timely manner.
Prepare monthly journal entries and accounting reports.
Prepare, balance and reconcile accounts as necessary.
Provide support during annual audit.
Fixed asset tracking and reporting.
Assist with sales and non-employee tax reporting.
Assist operational areas with monthly expense variance reporting.
Maintain confidentiality of records.
Secondary Duties:
Assist the CFO/COO with ad-hoc reporting requests.
Provide backup coverage to the Accounts Payable Manager.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting with two years experience preferred or Associate degree in accounting with five or more years general accounting experience including payroll and/or sales tax reporting.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office - proficiency in Excel preferred.
Knowledge of analysis programs such as PowerBi a plus.
Experience with various ERP systems and ability to apply learned skills from one system to another a plus.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organization.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven background with gathering, compiling and reporting data.
