Accountant / Bookkeeper

Billy Heroman’s Flowerland is looking for a detailed-orientated and organized individual to fill the role of Bookkeeper/Accountant. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping and accounts payable processes, with a strong attention to accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities of Accountant / Bookkeeper:

• Maintains accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
• Process accounts payable transactions, including scanning invoices, invoice verification, data entry, and payment processing.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Maintain vendor files including vendor information, vendor W-9’s, vendor certificates of insurance, etc.
• Conducts monthly reconciliation of petty cash accounts.
• Prepare and distribute financial reports as needed.
• Assist with other accounting tasks as assigned by management.
• Maintains a clean and tidy work area to minimize safety risks and incidents.
• Demonstrates safe work habits by following proper procedures and protocols.
• Aware of reporting process for incident/injuries. Reports all incidents, injuries and near misses.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications of Accountant / Bookkeeper:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three or more years in bookkeeping or accounts payable roles.
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks or similar programs.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Google Documents.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to quickly learn and utilize new software applications.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
