The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nonprofit accounting, grant reporting, and billing. This role is crucial in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of our organization, particularly in managing funds from various grants and donations. Key Responsibilities:
Grant Reporting: Prepare and submit detailed grant reports to ensure compliance with grant requirements and deadlines. Maintain accurate records of all grant-related financial transactions.
Nonprofit Accounting: Manage all aspects of nonprofit accounting including fund accounting, financial reporting, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
Billing: Oversee the billing process, including invoicing for services provided, tracking payments, and managing accounts receivable. Ensure accurate and timely processing of all billing transactions.
Financial Analysis: Conduct regular financial analysis to monitor the financial health of the organization. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to support strategic decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Audit Preparation: Prepare and assist with annual audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
Collaboration: Work closely with program managers and other staff to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting. Provide training and support on financial matters as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit accounting, with a focus on grant reporting and billing.
Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
