Accountant

Established construction firm is looking to hire an Accountant. The ideal candidate will monitor the financial progress of multiple functions including approving expenses, AP / AR and general ledger postings for the company. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with 1+ years of experience in corporate accounting looking to transition into a well-known organization that provides high-level exposure on a regular basis along with visible room for growth!

Responsibilities:

• Liaise with multiple teams to maintain project budgets and variance analysis
• Perform all accounting functions related to assigned projects (ex. Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, job costs, etc.)
• Oversee project cashflow schedule incorporating project updates within master accounting cashflow
• Manage the close period ensuring all required entries have been properly posted
• Prepare invoices for all assigned projects on a monthly, interim, and milestone basis
• Coordinate proper payments to all subcontractors and major suppliers
• Ensure that all team members are following company financial procedures and communicate any potential risk to management

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• 1+ years of corporate / general accounting experience; past exposure to construction industry a plus!
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite or other accounting softwares
• Organizational skills, critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgment and decision-making ability
• Self-directed and motivated with a focus on continuous improvement
