The Accountant is primarily responsible for general accounting duties and payroll backup. In addition, the Sr. Accountant prepares daily and monthly reconciliations as well as other general accounting duties.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Manage the fixed assets accounting process, including tracking, recording, and reporting on fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, and impairment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
Conduct regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts and intercompany accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data
Serve as a backup payroll processor, assisting with processing payroll, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with internal payroll policies and guidelines
Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
Prepare comprehensive call report schedules (RC-E and RC-O) ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
Perform detailed balancing and reconciliation procedures for Federal Reserve accounts to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
Assist with both external and internal audits on accounting matters
Support the team in conducting various month-end and quarter-end financial reporting activities
Assist in special projects, such as system implementations, process improvements, and regulatory changes, as needed
Prepare and input various departmental wires
Provide support and answer inquiries from employees

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a banking or financial services environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and regulatory requirements
Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
