POSITION PURPOSE

The accountant is expected to support the daily accounting operations remotely that impact the financialstatements for the company. You will have the opportunity to be a part of an incredible team thatsupports our growing and complex business.

Essential Functions

  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Monthly close journal entries (accruals, depreciation/amortization, allocations, etc.)
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Assist with multiple companies
  • Perform financial analysis
  • Monitor financial accounts and transactions
  • Assist with A/P and A/R preparation and review
  • Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules
  • Maintain accounting files and documentation in accordance with established procedures
  • Investigate and resolve issues with accounting or transactional discrepancies
  • Support the accounting team on tasks and projects as needed
  • Provides support to the entire Accounting/Finance Department
  • Provide support with annual reviews, audits, tax returns, etc
  • Assist with creating and implementing new policies and procedures
  • Assist with Unanet system setup as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned

Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • CPA candidate preferred
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks andmanage competing demands effectively
  • Proficient computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to work effectively across functional departments
  • Commitment to personal and professional growth, with a desire to continuously learn andimprove skills
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to work closely with colleagues and contribute to apositive team environment
  • Adaptability to the continuously evolving changes to the accounting landscape
  • Candidate must reside in NE, OK, DC, MD, or VA

Primary to a candidate’s success in this role will be the ability to work collaboratively with corporatefunctional areas. This is a true partnership role. He or she must also work effectively across functional and organizational boundaries in supporting operations to deliver top line & bottom-line expectationswhile delivering superior services.He/she will be a team player and have a positive “Can Do” attitude. The candidate will have a greatattention to detail and have the patience to deal with many variables that may arise within thedepartment.

MACHINES & EQUIPMENT

The incumbent must be able to effectively operate the current computer system, telephone system, and other office machines such as a copier.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The incumbent works in an office environment that is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions such as heat, cold, or extreme noise. Routine periods of being on the phone utilizing a headset, sitting and data keying are required. Periodic times working at the office site may be required.

Security and privacy training will be provided as part of this role to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of PCS’ associate and customer data.
