What you bring to the table: As an integral member of the team, this role will be responsible for the development and execution of PR plans and serving as a day-to-day lead for some of the agency’s most important corporate clients. The ideal candidate is a corporate generalist with expertise in account management, content strategy, media relations and executive visibility.


We are looking for an ambitious and results-driven leader with significant experience in editorial content development in the healthcare space, as well as strategy development and cross-functional integration to support programs for leading companies. The candidate is a true team player with the ability to move projects quickly effectively, and with excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily client lead; Serves as a senior partner and trusted collaborator for clients, fostering relationships in the healthcare space
  • Understand and retain client messages and goals; translate to strategic content customized for healthcare audiences across diverse stakeholder groups, e.g., HCPs, patient groups, investors and pharma industry peers
  • Maintain an expert-level knowledge of client narratives, messaging, style and tone and voice, and work to apply these across all deliverables
  • Help develop strategic and tactical annual corporate comms plans – inclusive of client goals, objectives, strategies and tactics – and play an integral role in the research, planning and execution of these programs and campaigns
  • Oversees ongoing editorial content development for clients (internal and external audiences), from thematic planning and story identification to SME and senior executive interviews, drafting and editing
  • Oversee operational performance of accounts, ensuring work quality, deadline adherence and and management of financial account needs, including revenue, profitability, pricing structures, budgeting and forecasting
  • Identify opportunities to collaborate with clients and colleagues to drive efficiencies across the team by proactively strengthening operational processes
  • Contribute to new business process, including identifying new business opportunities and organic growth for existing clients/accounts
  • Stay up to date with emerging communications trends and technologies and understands how they integrate into PR programs
  • Oversee junior staff’s work products to ensure quality and consistency and provide ongoing constructive feedback and consistently hold junior staff accountable for performance
  • Help mentor, coach and support team members
  • Possess a strong understanding of MSL’s positioning and goals; emulate behaviors consistent with MSL’s values


Requirements/Skills:

  • 5 years of relevant experience in public relations, communications and/or related fields
  • Flexible, agile, confident client management skills; ability to manage multiple clients across multiple workstreams
  • A comprehensive understanding of clients’ businesses and their objectives, as well as their key stakeholders, e.g., HCPs, patients, employees, investors, regulators, media, partners and peers
  • Detail oriented with exceptional written and communications skills, particularly in copy editing and project oversight
  • Shows advanced understanding of social media and the digital landscape and how to incorporate into client programs
  • Proven ability to manage large projects and small teams on one or more sizable accounts or equivalent
  • Strong account management skills; ability to manage multiple inbound projects and deadlines, delegate tactical assignments and accurately judge and edit work of others
  • Working knowledge of digital integrated comms and/or the healthcare media space
  • Knowledge of crisis communication is a plus
  • Ability to mentor, coach and support junior team members and direct reports


Compensation Range: $70,000-$117,500. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
