This position supports our Contractor Equipment Division (CED) in Rogers, MN. At CED, our product line meets the needs of painting, striping, texturing, protective coating, fire proofing, spray foam and general contractors and includes all types of airless sprayers, line stripers, pressure washers, spray foam rigs and other proportioning solutions. CED-PC- Account Manager

Job Purpose

The CED Account Manager is responsible for the profitable growth of accounts in an assigned geographic area, as well as profitable growth and management of regional accounts that extend beyond their geographic areas if assigned.

Essential Duties

  • Manage distribution channel.
  • Maintain and profitably grow assigned accounts.
  • Call on key end-users with defined frequency, in order to influence the sale of equipment.
  • Inform and demonstrate new products.
  • Attend key painter meetings in order to influence the sale of equipment.
  • Demonstrate product features and benefits as necessary.
  • Maintain favorable contact and develop a rapport with customers, potential customers, chief buying influences, and key store managers.
  • Implement national sales and marketing programs.
  • Develop and implement local and regionally tailored sales and marketing programs.
  • Procure information on issues that may affect sales growth and make recommendations to Regional management.
  • Make recommendations on adding/deleting/upgrading distribution.
  • Recommend product improvements.
  • Check ad reports on competitors' activities.
  • Recommend solutions to problems with respect to product, applications, and distribution issues.
  • Develop and submit time and territory plan that supports the marketing plan as required by the Regional Manager.
  • Submit timely and complete reports and paperwork, including activity and expense reports.
  • Actively participate in local trade associations.
  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of CED equipment and applications.
  • Through demonstrations, develop paint store personnel's skills in making the best equipment recommendations to end-users.
  • Maintain demo equipment and expense accounts within defined limits. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical field or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience selling in painting and decorating contractor marketplace.
  • Effective oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Effective demonstration skills.
  • Evidence of mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work successfully without close supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of end-users.
  • Ability to effectively manage the contractor equipment distribution channel.
  • Willingness to travel.
