About the Opportunity:

This role is for an Account/Project Manager - Digital Marketing Focus (Temporary) to join our extended team who serves as the primary point of contact for a designated group of our valued client accounts. You’ll balance account and project management, exceeding clients’ goals, nurturing and growing client relationships, managing the team to deliver on time and on budget, and protecting Windmill’s interests with sane project schedules and healthy profitability.


This is a remote/WFH position, on a fully virtual team. This temporary, full-time position offers a flexible start date by Sep 1, 2024, to cover maternity leave through Feb 28, 2025, with the potential opportunity for longer employment.

  • Communication Skills: You excel at both verbal and written communication, with the ability to explain complex marketing concepts to clients with a variety of levels of knowledge. You can easily and comfortably facilitate client meetings, negotiate effectively, and influence project stakeholders to create win-win solutions.
  • Technical Knowledge: You have a strong understanding of website user experience (UX), website technical optimization, SEO, PPC, Marketing Automation, and B2B marketing (industrial/technical preferred).
  • Analytical Skills: You leverage data and analytics tools like Google Analytics and Lead Forensics (or similar tools) to inform your strategies and measure success. You prioritize accuracy, logic, problem-solving, and action.

You Will:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for a set group of clients, managing both project and account management aspects to ensure satisfaction and growth. This includes nurturing relationships with existing clients, evolving strategies with retainer clients, and optimizing MRR.  
  • Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing strategies tailored to the client’s business goals, encompassing SEO, PPC, content marketing, email marketing, ABM, and marketing automation.
  • Share your knowledge of marketing, web design/development, graphic design, and branding solutions. Show how they solve a client’s business and marketing goals. Our customers trust you as their expert guide.
  • Collaborate with the team to create project estimates, proposals, strategies, and plans, then execute against high-level strategies and client goals, holding the team accountable to deadlines and driving results and efficiency.
  • Continuously evolve internal processes to improve efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Identify and resolve risks in meeting schedule and budget constraints and hold yourself accountable for project momentum, quality, client satisfaction, and company profitability. Maintain and communicate realistic timelines and budget expectations.
  • Proofread and QA deliverables to ensure requirements and quality standards are being met.
  • Review billing and invoices for accuracy and profitability.
  • Participate in / support new business conversations and meetings, including helping define scope and timeline expectations and strategic recommendations.


We’re a small team of expert practitioners who are multidisciplinary and often wear many hats so depending on your background, you might also get to: 


  • Use Google Analytics, SEMRush, Google Looker Studio, and other analysis tools.
  • Guide and facilitate content creation by writers and/or clients.
  • Assist clients with CMS tasks, such as training, content migration, and minor website edits.
  • Other related responsibilities may be assigned as needed to help the company operate efficiently.


Your Skills and Background:

  • 3+ years of experience in digital marketing, preferably in a B2B setting, with a strong understanding of the technical and industrial sectors.
  • 2+ years at a digital agency in a client-facing project or account management role and a proven track record.
  • Experience in and knowledge of the creative and technical requirements of B2B marketing, web design, web development, digital marketing, SEO, analytics, print/graphic design, and branding.
  • Proven ability to guide the optimization of websites for SEO, user experience (UX) and technical performance to improve lead generation and conversion rates for B2B clients.
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms (HubSpot preferred), Google Analytics, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and CMS platforms like WordPress.
  • Mac user with Google Apps and Microsoft Office experience (Adobe Creative Suite experience a plus, but not required).
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field is preferred.


Nice-to-have: 

  • Experience with Lead Forensics or similar tools.
  • Certifications in Google Analytics, Google Ads, or HubSpot.
  • Experience in account-based marketing (ABM).
