Our company is seeking a hungry and motivated individual for an Account Manager role. As an Account Manager, you will be at the forefront of our growth strategy, responsible for identifying new business opportunities and forging strong relationships within the rail industry. Your goal will be to expand our market presence, increase sales, and contribute to the overall success of the company.


Work Arrangement:

  • Remote position with expected travel around 70% of the time. Candidates must be based around Minneapolis, MN due to proximity of clients.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the rail industry to expand the company's client base and drive revenue growth.
  • Maintain regular communication with current clients, understanding their evolving needs and addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Act as the lead contact for all new business opportunities with customer purchasing groups, such as RFQ, POs, and PPAP timing.
  • Address and resolve pricing discrepancies and billing issues promptly.
  • Seek out and capitalize on new opportunities to expand the territory. Oversee the development and management of multiple new product programs.
  • Sustain high-level customer contacts beyond standard functional interactions.
  • Establish and nurture working relationships with a diverse range of customers, extending beyond individual territory responsibilities.
  • Evaluate and suggest new product opportunities beyond standard customer-driven applications.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, new technologies, and potential market segments.
  • Analyze industry reports, competitor activities, and customer feedback to uncover opportunities for growth.
  • Develop cost reduction strategies in anticipation of future customer demand.
  • Assess internal and external growth opportunities and present potential initiatives to management.
  • Accurately record all sales activities, including customer interactions, sales calls, meetings, and follow-ups, in the CRM system.
  • Update and maintain detailed customer profiles, ensuring all contact information, preferences, and transaction history are current.


Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of outside sales experience with a focus on the rail industry.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, attend industry events, and explore new market opportunities.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and other sales-related tools.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively pitch products and services.
  • Ability to understand technical product specifications and convey their benefits to clients.


Pay Structure:

Competitive base salary + a lucrative bonus incentive program.
