As an Account Director at SS+K(part of M&C Saatchi Group), you will take on a pivotal role, serving as the primary business lead for assigned clients. In this multifaceted position, you will have the opportunity to drive the growth and development of large-scale businesses, leveraging your industry expertise to cultivate strong senior-level client relationships. You will lead integrated teams, oversee operations, and ensure seamless collaboration with cross-functional partners. As a key agency leader, you will embody our mission, coach junior staff, and provide strategic guidance to both internal teams and clients. Your exceptional communication skills, resourcefulness, and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment will contribute to the continued success of our clients and our agency as a whole.


What you'll do:

The Account Director serves as the business lead for assigned client(s) and, as such, is a leader within the agency. You are expected to:

  • Lead healthy agency business and integrated teams with minimal oversight from a group account director or executive leadership
    • Demonstrate ownership of large-scale businesses and opportunities, including senior-level client relationships.
    • Serve as the integrated team lead across agency partnerships on a client’s business
    • Successfully develop and oversee SOW, staffing plans, MSAs, and contracts and manage agency delivery and P&L on an ongoing basis
    • Proactively find opportunities to grow billings and evolve agency operations and offerings.
  • As an agency leader:
    • Reinforce the agency’s mission with every conversation and in decisions and actions, internally and externally.
    • Serve as a model for team leadership - positive, prepared, proactive, thorough, and fair - with a willingness to do whatever is needed.
    • Provide coaching and assist in the training and development of junior staff
  •  Develop relationships with senior clients rooted in trust and confidence, so you’re the first person they call (both for good and bad news); focus on building trusting relationships and an appetite for bold ideas.
  • Develop and nurture deep partnerships with strategy and creative leads to ensure successful long-term brand stewardship and thought leadership, all in service of the best possible output.
  • Ensure the account team and other disciplines maintain a deep, ongoing understanding of the roles of various media channels in an integrated communications plan.
  • Partner with project management and production on the execution and delivery of work, managing workflow, deliverables, and internal and client input to meet creative, timing, and budget expectations.
  • Identify and spearhead opportunities to improve our operations and process to improve the work, agency culture, and profitability, applying learning from one piece of business to others
  • Travel may be required

What you'll bring: 

  • Previous experience leading a significant piece of business, ideally within an agency environment.
  • Supervisory and team leadership skills.
  • Experience leading the creation and execution of both integrated campaigns and strategic outputs; previous workings with highly matrixed clients toward world-class output is ideal.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) and excellent presentation abilities, capable of commanding a room.

Salary is dependent on experience but ranges from: $150,000 – $200,000. All candidates must have the ability to work in the US; we are unable to sponsor any work visas for this role.
