Under minimal supervision, responsible coordinating student success programs in the School of Nursing Student Success Center including academic support programs, peer-led support programs, and student leadership development. This is a grant-funded position that will facilitate and coordinate various academic activities, maintains records, databases, provides curriculum information, and program evaluations.
Responsibilities
Collaborates with the Office of Academic Affairs, Office of Admissions, faculty, and campus service providers to ensure effective delivery of student success programs for undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Supports and serves a diverse student population, including underrepresented, first-generation, and economically disadvantaged student populations.
Develops comprehensive outreach plans for academic success programs. Assists in the design, facilitation, and assessment of the student success program in response to student access in person and online. Identifies barriers and spearheads student outreach to resolve the issues. Facilitates individual or group coaching sessions for nursing students.
Coordinates the planning, implementation, and evaluation of peer-to-peer support program(s), which may include Peer Mentoring, Supplemental Instruction or Tutoring. Selects, hires, trains, and supervises student employees. Designs and implements annual student employee onboarding and training program.
Identifies areas for program expansion or improvement based on student needs and feedback. Designs and implements new initiatives to enhance student success and engagement. Develops and administers assessments to measure program effectiveness and student learning outcomes.
Analyses data and generates reports on program outcomes and impact.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of student development, adult education, program development/evaluation, and dissemination of program outcomes. Possess knowledge of event coordination, public speaking abilities, knowledge of adult teaching/learning processes to ensure high participant satisfaction and learning.
Demonstrated effective and professional written and oral communication skills; interpersonal and public relations skills.
Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner; ability to coordinate multiple projects concurrently.
Collaborative disposition and ability to work within a diverse and complex organization.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, CRM systems, LMS systems, database programs, and website content management systems. Aptitude to learn new technology quickly is needed.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to serve as a resource to faculty, staff and students.
Ability to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment and capable of self-direction with long periods of indirect supervision.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Education, or related field is required. Master’s preferred in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, Counseling, Education, School Psychology or related field.
