JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Morgan Academic Center (MAC) is accepting applications for Academic Mentor positions throughout the 2024-25 academic year. The ideal candidate should be able to work with a diverse population of student-athletes to assess and improve their educational needs. This may include but is not limited to study strategies, goal setting, time management, organization, note-taking, reading, study and test preparation, self-monitoring, self-advocacy, and critical thinking/problem-solving.
The preferred skills for this role include:
The position offers a flexible schedule, with a maximum of 20 hours per week and a minimum commitment of 5 hours per week, including the possibility of evenings and Sundays.

CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS:
Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters. The ASR is available for review here.

- Ability to informally assess student needs and provide academic intervention strategies.

- Current Penn State graduate students are preferred, but we also welcome qualified applicants with equivalent academic credentials and experience mentoring or teaching.
