Job Description
You will primarily engage in individual, in-person meetings aimed at fostering students' academic development, success, and progress towards their educational goals. Your responsibilities will include advising a diverse caseload of undergraduate students, such as:
Open majors and students exploring major transitions
First-year students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (e.g., Biology, English)
Students pursuing admission to selective undergraduate programs or colleges
Students preparing for post-baccalaureate professional programs (e.g., Pre-Medicine, Pre-Law)
In this role, you will assist students in creating tailored academic plans, participating in meaningful academic experiences, and engaging in recruitment and retention initiatives. Active involvement in professional development activities and collaboration with academic departments and campus offices will also be integral to your role.

The mission is to empower students to navigate their educational journey effectively by exploring majors, planning academic programs, and making informed decisions. We view academic advising as a partnership, outlining mutual expectations for advisors and students to ensure a supportive and productive advising experience.
Position Qualifications
Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in academic advising, college teaching, or direct student interaction at the undergraduate level (typically 1 year)
Demonstrated ability to cultivate a respectful and inclusive workplace environment
Proficiency in communication techniques, relationship building, and varied advising approaches
Knowledge of university policies, services, and expectations for student success and retention
