APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
The Smeal College of Business seeks an experienced Academic Advisor to work in a fast-paced, high energy academic environment. Extensive knowledge of University policy and procedures that apply to the matriculation and the academic, personal, and professional development of undergraduate students is required.
The responsibilities of this individual include:
Requires a Master's degree or higher plus three years of work-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will have a strong background in academic advising with a proven track record and commitment to serving diverse student populations. Competencies critical to success include excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong attention to detail; commitment to honor and integrity; sensitivity to the needs of others; ability to work independently and as part of a team; effective knowledge of computer applications, and ability to efficiently manage time, balance multiple responsibilities and adapt to change. Experience with data collection and assessment is preferred.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$46,400.00 - $67,300.00

CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS:
Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters. The ASR is available for review here.

The Smeal College of Business seeks an experienced Academic Advisor to work in a fast-paced, high energy academic environment. Extensive knowledge of University policy and procedures that apply to the matriculation and the academic, personal, and professional development of undergraduate students is required.
The responsibilities of this individual include:
- providing academic advising to undergraduate students
- interpreting university policies, procedures and curriculum to students and faculty in the college
- guiding students in course selection and scheduling
- resolving academic problems and escalating unusual matters
- monitoring degree progress
- assessing student needs and making professional referrals
- contributing to advising committees and/or working groups related to areas that may include student success, diversity and inclusion, assessment and evaluation, academic policies and/or staff development.
