AC Electrical Technician - Level 1 & 2

Job Description

PVI has an immediate need at their Georgia and North Florida locations for a skilled AC Electrical Team Level 1 & 2 Technician This position will support the AC Electrical team with commercial, industrial jobs to troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical equipment and systems.

The candidate must be willing to travel.

North Florida and Georgia work includes AC Power work with indoor and outdoor installs, low voltage and controls cabling indoors and DC Power installs indoors.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to the following:

Level 2

  • Responsible for tools and materials in vehicles that are commonly used and replenish when necessary, to avoid slow-downs. (Vehicles should be clean and organized)
  • Responsible for project production.
  • Learn skills necessary for the professional installation of electrical equipment in compliance with the NEC including article 110.12. (Neat and workmanlike manner)
  • Conduit bending, threading and installation. (Level, plumb and parallel)
  • Proper installation of panelboards/equipment.
  • Project layout and measuring.
  • Troubleshooting
  • NEC code compliancy. (Conductor ampacity, Sizing Raceways, Junction boxes and equipment grounding conductors)
  • Learn new skills outside of the typical AC electrician skill set.
  • Equipment alarming circuits and network configuration.
  • HVAC controller, Avtech and power meter programming.
  • Heavy equipment operating.
  • Hub entry system. (JB#)
  • Learn to read blueprints, schematics, and other equipment documentation associated with installations.
  • Become familiar with the Client Standards and maintain them on projects.
  • Report to Level 3 and above with progress reports and potential project complications.
  • Responsible for a safe and clean work environment.

Level 1

  • Courteous and respectful to clients and their workspace.
  • Maintain a clean job site. (Clean in Clean out)
  • Learn materials associated with different projects and keep onsite material organized.
  • Learn skills necessary to complete tasks associated with different types of projects.
  • Conduit bending, threading and installation.
  • Panelboard installation and wiring.
  • Proper use of tools.
  • Make use of PVI’s resources.
  • MS Teams/Shifts for Scheduling, SOW’s and additional job-related files.
  • MS Outlook (email).
  • Apple notes app for daily tasks and material needs.
  • Be available to support projects and/or emergencies that occur outside of normal business hours.
  • Responsible for a safe and clean work environment.

Qualified candidates must possess:

Level 2 - At least 3-4 years of electrical experience.

Strong communication skills.

Must be willing to travel.

Valid drivers license.

This position requires the candidate to be driven, a self-starter, good communicator.
