We offer tailored lending solutions and are seeking a skilled and proactive Portfolio Manager to manage our portfolio of asset-based loans and maintain strong client relationships.


Position Summary: The Portfolio Manager will oversee a portfolio of 10-15 asset-based loans, ensuring compliance with loan agreements and Edge Capital Lending's policies. This role includes preparing and presenting Credit Memorandums, identifying portfolio risks and trends, and maintaining exceptional service with clients. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, comprehensive knowledge of asset-based lending, a healthy degree of skepticism, good sense of humor, and excellent communication abilities.


Key Responsibilities:

1.      Portfolio Management:

  •         Oversee an existing portfolio of 10-15 asset-based loans, ensuring compliance with loan agreements and Edge Capital Lending's policies.
  •         Monitor, measure, and analyze the financial and collateral performance of borrowers.
  •         Identify and proactively address any portfolio trends, weaknesses, or deteriorating conditions.

2.      Credit Memoranda:

  •        Prepare and present detailed Credit Memoranda for renewals, modifications, or changes in borrowers' credit facilities.
  •         Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure accurate and proper documentation.

3.      Risk Management and Reporting:

  •        Evaluate and recommend changes to reporting requirements or loan structures based on client performance.
  •        Ensure timely submission and accuracy of borrowers’ financial and collateral reports.
  •        Approve advances based on collateral availability, credit status, and approval authority.
  •        Conduct in-depth financial statement analysis, including spreading financials and discussing trends with borrowers.
  • Review financial statements, aging reports, verifications, and trend analyses to identify any signs of financial deterioration.

4.      Client Interaction and Communication:

  •        Develop and maintain professional, ethical, and timely relationships with borrowers.
  •        Maintain regular and effective communication with internal team members.
  •        Participate in monthly Portfolio Review meetings to discuss borrower performance trends and address potential challenges.
  •       Ensure appropriate risk rating for borrowers and recommend changes to risk ratings and exposure strategies as needed.


5.      Field Exams and Appraisals:

  •       Schedule and oversee recurring field exams and appraisals for borrowers.
  •       Maintain the integrity and accuracy of borrowers’ credit, legal, and financial files.


Qualifications:

  • ·        Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • ·        4+ years of experience in commercial asset-based lending, credit analysis, or a related field.
  • ·        Strong understanding of asset-based lending and superior credit knowledge.
  • ·        Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to take initiative and solve problems effectively.
  • ·        Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).


Desired Skills:

  • ·        Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • ·        Prior experience in credit, investment banking, asset-based lending, or consulting.
  • ·        Strong understanding of accounting and finance, with experience in financial modeling and analysis.
  • ·        Ability to work independently, multitask, and meet short-term deadlines.
