REPORTS TO: Principal

SUPERVISES: Staff and students, as assigned

JOB GOAL: To assist the principal with administrative and instructional functions in promoting the educational well-being of each student in the school and in carrying out the mission and goals of the school and district.

Performance Responsibilities

Assist staff in maintaining discipline throughout the school and handles all referrals from teachers or bus drivers; facilitates the implementation of the Code of Student Conduct to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment.

Assist in developing a positive school atmosphere.

Oversee building and grounds maintenance and reports all building maintenance needs to the principal and Assistant Superintendent of Operations to ensure a clean, healthy and safe learning environment.

Coordinate and supervises bus loading and unloading.

Coordinate all paperwork and transportation needs for field trips.

Assist in supervision of assemblies and events at the school.

Assume responsibility of the general supervision of the student body, works collaboratively with all staff to strengthen the instructional program.

Assist in overseeing food services at the school, assists with free and reduced lunch eligibility.

Conference with parents, teachers, and students, as needed.

Assist in the preparation of opening and closing of the school year.

Handle attendance issues and interprets the county-wide attendance policy; works to have the best attendance possible by monitoring tardies and absenteeism.

Assist with substitute teachers on a daily basis.

Serve as chairperson on the Admission and Release Committee (ARC), when assigned. \

Provide assistance to the principal for instructional assignments and teaching schedules.

Assist in data analysis and the development and implementation of the School Improvement Plan.

Assist the principal in the evaluation process of certified and classified staff.

Remain current on educational changes and developments through managing his/her own professional development and through reading professional literature. Adhere to the professional code of ethics as established by Educational Professional Standards Board. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the principal.
