Tegra Medical is looking for a Grinding Operator-I
The Grinding Operator I operates computer numerical control (CNC) machines, including CNC infeed/thrufeed centerless grinding machines, CNC surface grinding machines, CNC wire grinding machines and. Maintain awareness of close tolerance parts, including pointed parts using various types of measuring equipment including vision systems. Following standard operating procedures and instructions. Operate secondary equipment and perform any other functions within the department that may be necessary.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate machines, achieving specifications including quality and throughput.
- Implement continuous improvement activities. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform JobBOSS transactions.
- Perform required daily maintenance to equipment and tools.
- Work from procedures and prescribed operation sequences to achieve parts per print and quality specifications.
- Monitor, observe and listen to machine operation to detect malfunctions.
- Ensure work piece is being properly lubricated and cooled; coolant lines properly located.
- Monitor process and specifications.
- Notify supervisor and/or department Lead Person of discrepancies.
- Perform own part inspection during grinding process to measure work piece to check to match specs, using measuring instruments such as microscope, optical comparator, micrometer, caliper, dial indicators and gauges.
- Communicate with co-workers, members of other shifts, technical leader, team leader and/or supervisor to transfer and receive instructions and information.
- Perform 1st piece and In-process inspections for self.
- Record measurements per inspection plans and methods indicated.
- Simultaneous to grinding operation, perform a variety of secondary operations as required ex: Cleaning parts, cleaning work areas and assisting others within department.

- H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of a vocational school in manufacturing/machining or engineering discipline is a plus. 1 to 3 years’ experience in a small device manufacturing environment as a CNC Grinding Operator is preferred.
- Experience operating grinding equipment helpful. Experience in medical device manufacturing, aerospace, machinery, metals are desired.
- Have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Follow written and verbal instructions and capable of meeting deadlines. Good manual dexterity and ability to use measurement and inspection tools.
- Good work habits, adherence to attendance requirements, strong workmanship and a positive attitude are required as well as an ability, desire and flexibility to perform a variety of machining operations and other functions within manufacturing as needed.
