    Metal Seinen is a non-profit which provides individuals with opportunities to explore global pop culture s through our visual art projects, events and mentor ship program. Since 2006, we hosted pop culture events, worked with individuals from the local community in Karachi and Islamabad on visual art projects and collaborated with the Japanese Cultural Center on various activities.

    I led the overall strategy and direction for the non-profit including communications, program planning, hosting and organizing events.This was an invaluable experience in public speaking, leadership and presenting use cases to public sector/foreign dignitaries

    Our self-funded events were featured in local news papers such as DAWN. As a result of its activities, the organization was invited to collaborate with the Japanese Cultural Center Karachi on Japanese pop-cultures. Since 2010 we have worked with different cultural attaches at the Japanese Cultural Center and have been significant contributors in enabling greater acceptance of Japanese pop culture.

    From 2016 we have pivoted to digital products focusing on short stories set in south asia. Our products can be seen on our Facebook Page

    This project is the rewrite of a SAP and Lotus notes application into a web enabled application utilizing search operations based on SAP TREX and the UI based on AngularJs, SSO through siteminder.
    This uses SAP FI processes (AP, AR) for international payments in the professional services industry

This app was built on AngularJS and Ionic framework with a complex backend comprising of multiple systems. There were 30+ people involved as developers and architects on the project and my responsibility was taking care of the product deployment into the production system.

  • SAFR: Predicting incidents for personal safety

    I was interested in solving the problem of quantitative data for developing countries. Increasingly, it is hard to quantify incidents of crime, traffic and electricity outages. People have been used social media extensively to try to solve this problem.

    I have led the idea hypothesis, generation and validation. I have been involved heavily in the technology and research required to make this a success.

    Some of my responsibilities included:
    Design & Develop Architecture for the solution. Designing the solution functions utilizing SparkStreaming, Cassandra DB, Mllib (Spark's Machine Learning Tool) and working with developers to create functional specifications and the UI. Other technologies include Microsoft Github, Azure, HDInsight, Apache Storm, Vagrant, Puppet, AngularJS.

    Design the business model on the lean startup principles. Working on go-to market strategy, reaching out to customers & industry experts for their feedback on the functionality. Understanding a broad spectrum of use cases and which is applicable.

    Conduct Design thinking sessions, empathy mapping sessions and interviews with extreme users;prototyping technology models and verifying designs submitted by the team

    Working with a globally distributed team of volunteers to make sure users gain the best possible experience

    Design the system for the Machine Learning functions required for the project. This includes classification algorithms, identifying the attributes for the forecasting/validation of reports. There has been extensive research in this area and hypothesis are being worked upon with help from qualified personnel
