How can you prevent remote workers from feeling isolated?
Encouraging the maintenance of physical and mental health is critical for employees to feel valued. Employees want to know that their employer cares for their wellbeing and prioritizes this. We can only be at our best when our physical and mental bodies are taken care of. Flexibility is key. Give your employee the time to go to that doctor's appointment or take their dog to the vet. Trust your employees, and they'll feel empowered to do their job well.

What are some effective ways to keep new hires productive and motivated?
Engagement is key to fostering productive and motivated new hires. Ensuring they socialize with others across various teams, having clear goals and the tools to achieve them, as well as getting the opportunity to take on challenges and being recognized for wins is key to retaining them in the long term. There's nothing worse than working hard without recognition or appreciation. The recognition process starts from Day 1. Recognition can be verbal, physical (award), or monetary. With this in mind, every organization, no matter their stage, can find ways to recognize their employees.

What are the benefits of aligning HR and business goals?
Evaluation and improvement should be a continuous process. As the business and its goals change, so too should HR goals. Tapping into feedback loops such as focus groups, surveys, and interviews is invaluable to understand the impact of HR's activities. Keeping open lines of communication across different teams and with senior leadership is critical for staying agile and up to date with the business' goals and priorities.

How can you promote work-life harmony for your employees?
It's critical to ensure that your employees are taking time off, particularly with an unlimited/flex PTO policy. Making sure that all employees are taking a minimum X days off per year goes a long way in promoting and encouraging work-life harmony. We cannot work or live at our best without maintaining this balance.
