About
I am the co-founder and CEO of Massive, the latest iteration of my lifelong commitment to conscious leadership and social justice. As a certified mindset coach, thought leader in communication for social and organizational change, complexity scientist, and systemic leadership expert, my work spans four continents, advising leaders on social change, consulting for international organizations like the UN, and professorships at three universities.
For three decades, I’ve studied how social change really happens. From real-world experience as a lifelong activist, scholar, and non-profit leader, I have concluded that transforming our organizational cultures and changing the way we lead are two of the greatest contributors to lasting impact. This journey led me to create the Intersectional Leadership model.
Conscious leaders are recognizing the urgent need for a new approach to leadership that is more inclusive, adaptable, and innovative. Traditional leadership models, characterized by their hierarchical and rigid structures, are not only inadequate for dealing with the organizational, social, and environmental issues we face today, they often perpetuate problems.
These obsolete models do not fix or replace themselves.
That’s why I created the Intersectional Leadership model, a meta-framework for transforming leadership, culture, and behaviors within organizations. This model combines the three driving forces for systemic transformation: feminism, mindset, and complexity science.
I coach non-profit leaders on how to develop systemic leadership skills, decentralize decision-making, and democratize access to resources; equipping their organizations to adapt quickly to environmental changes, ensuring sustained impact and stronger, more resilient operations.
I also work with impact-driven companies who recognize that long-term success depends on their ability to navigate the unpredictable nature of modern markets. I show them how to tap into the collective intelligence of teams, fostering environments where autonomy, experimentation, and collaboration thrive; leading to more resilient, adaptable, and impactful organizations capable of addressing both business challenges and societal needs.

A feminist and activist since my teen years, I mentor Latina women activists fighting for social justice and also serve as President of FCAM, an organization supporting women’s rights in Central America. I hold dual citizenship from Nicaragua and France and currently reside in Austin, Texas with my partner and our son.

When It Comes to Social Change, The Machine Metaphor Has Limits
MAZI, Communication for social Change Consortium
If social change is nonlinear, long term and rarely predictable, why do so many organisations use a mechanistic approach in an attempt to measure and evaluate development initiatives? The article explains why Westerners especially are drawn to the machine metaphor, the limitations of that approach and simple rules to avoid those limitations.

What Complexity Science Teaches Us About Social Change
MAZI, Communication for Social Change Consortium
Exactly how social change takes place is a critical issue for CFSC scholars and practitioners. Complexity scientists view social change as complex, nonlinear, contradictory, and so its implications for the CFSC process are important.
