While we have been discussing ways to successfully enhance operational efficiency, it is indeed easier said than done. From my experience, there have been instances where we failed to achieve the desired results, but those instances have provided me with valuable learnings and lessons. I will summarize the major roadblocks to implementing operational efficiency into three points: ▪ Structural Inertia: Rigid organizational structures and deeply ingrained legacy processes can create a lack of appetite for embracing new thought processes and hinder adaptability. ▪ People Resistance: Employees may be too entrenched in their ways of working, leading to a reluctance to adopt new methods. This resistance to change can stem from fear of the unknown or lack of understanding. ▪ Resource Constraints: Insufficient budgets, lack of appropriate tools, and inadequate training resources can impede the successful implementation of new processes and operational improvements. The resource problem is often the most straightforward to solve, as it primarily involves securing sufficient budgets. However, dealing with structural inertia and people's resistance to change can be far trickier challenges. This has been my experience.
