On May 27, 2024, officials from Brazilian institution SEMESP (Sindicato dos Estabelecimentos de Ensino no Estado de Sao Paulo) visited Kyoto Uzumasa Campus to interact with faculty, staff and students of KUAS and observe educational and research facilities on campus. As projeções dos analistas para a inflação, para a evolução do PIB e para a taxa de câmbio em 2024 voltaram a subir nesta semana, segundo dados divulgados nesta segunda-feira (22) pelo Relatório Focus do Banco Central. A estimativa do IPCA para este ano avançou de 4,0% para 4,05%, após ter interrompido a sequência de nove semanas de alta na semana passada. No entanto, a previsão para a inflação de 2025 se manteve nos mesmos 3,90%. A projeção para 2026 está mantida em 3,60% há sete semanas. Para 2027, a projeção continua em 3,50% há 55 semanas. As expectativas para a variação dos preços administrados dentro do IPCA subiram nesta semana, de 4,11% para 4,59%. As projeções para 2025 permaneceram em 3,90%. Para 2026, a estimativa se manteve 3,50%, mesmo patamar observado há 23 semanas, e a de 2026 permanece em 3,50% há 42 semanas. Para o IGP-M, as projeções subiram em 2024, avançando de 3,42% para 3,49% enquanto a estimativa para 2025 avançou de 3,90% para 3,95%. Para 2026, a projeção de inflação subiu de 3,84% para 3,92%. A de 2027 permaneceu em 3,70%.

Fabio Henrique de Sousa Coelho, our CEO, recently discussed in an Audio Brief the update of Novo Mercado by B3.   B3 announced a public hearing to reformulate Novo Mercado, a benchmark in corporate governance in Brazil. Key proposals include the suspension of companies envolved in severe cases before enforcement processes, the implementation of clawback rules on executive compensation for fraud or poor performance, making audit committees statutory bodies and requiring integrity policies, as well as increasing the number of independent directors on boards and addressing overboarding requirements to prevent excesses. Lorenzo Vargas Mantilla, WACC’s Communication for Social Change program manager, is attending the preparatory parallel event of the G20 Digital Economy Working Group that has a focus on the urgent need to prioritize information integrity.     Brazil is hosting the G20 later this year and the topic of information integrity is crucial given the political context.
