    In December of 2019, global digital services and solutions company Presidio Inc. was acquired by European investment firm BC Partners. Foreign owned companies doing business with the federal government are required to mitigate the risk of foreign ownership and control through an official process that prevents unauthorized access to classified information. This official process is called Foreign Ownership Control and Influence (FOCI) mitigation.

Foreign owned companies doing business with the federal government are required to mitigate the risk of foreign ownership and control through an official process that prevents unauthorized access to classified information. This official process is called Foreign Ownership Control and Influence (FOCI) mitigation.

    Presidio Federal, a wholly owned subsidiary of Presidio was created and staffed to serve federal government customers with technology services and solutions tailored to government needs and budget cycles. However, branding, marketing strategy, messaging, materials, systems, and budgets needed to be established in the short term. In the longer term, the company needed a flexible marketing staffing plan that considered the company’s growth and priorities after 12 – 18 months of operation.

    Presidio Federal hired 3WayDigital lead by Trish Barber, to establish the branding, marketing strategy, plan, and budget, and subsequently to hire the in-house team that would manage marketing for the company. In the short term, Presidio Federal leveraged 3WDs team of writers, designers, videographers, web developers, and social media experts to get marketing operations up and running while in-house staffing needs could be determined. 3WD provided the leadership and later oversaw the hiring of a two-person in-house marketing team as well as several other service organizations that support Presidio Federal’s marketing efforts. This project included brand development, creation of their web presence, social media channel development, creation of sales support materials, event planning, public relations, partner marketing program development.

This group of esteemed individuals are leading organizations across fields including healthcare, financial services, engineering, education, and more. Their efforts come in the wake of other Virginia women who came before them. Women like Maggie Walker, the first woman bank president in the U.S. and advocate of black women’s rights, and Grace Arents, who established the city's first public housing and also built Richmond's first free circulation library, helped pave the way for today’s leaders. This year’s awardees encourage and promote lasting changes around them, impacting the lives of other women and empowering them to lead in their own path.
