One example of Tracey’s abilities occurred when her and I had a chance to start a new Employee Resource Group (ERG) for our organization. I immediately saw Tracey’s passion for people really shine. She had numerous fresh ideas on how to engage our members, get their feedback, and deliver programming that truly helped them grow. In addition to her work through the ERGs, Tracey is a strategic leader. She not only takes time to understand the business and its objectives, Tracey goes out of her way to include different voices into her feedback loop, understanding this is how the best decisions are made. She is excellent at pulling information together and drafting a plan of execution, including key milestones along the way. On multiple occasions she’s demonstrated the ability to collaborate, learn, train, influence, and recognize key stakeholders. This absolutely rings true in her most recent work in DEI. I always enjoy getting a chance to interact or work with Tracey. I know that when I walk away, I’ve been heard and will have a renewed sense of purpose with what’s ahead of me. “To Whom It May Concern I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Tracey Cooper. Tracey and I worked together at MetLife from 2013 to 2016. We have remained in contact as colleagues since. I found her to be a very bright, energetic, diligent, effective, and professional business colleague. She was in the initial group of hires when MetLife relocated their retail operations to Charlotte, NC. She was a relationship manager for the Retirewise® program related to financial education for employees of MetLife’s group customers. Her area was the Western United States. She directed the communications, organization, materials, and managed relationships with the human resources contacts, the presenters, and sales teams. Once the sales representative reported the sale, Tracey took over and ran with it. She received high marks from all parties involved. She quickly stood out among her peers. While in the Retirewise® role, Tracey applied for and was selected to the MetLife internship program for high potential employees. Tracey learned various parts of the business and applied prior learnings to each new opportunity. During this time, she developed an ability to speak with business partners of all ranks, as she was involved at the highest levels of the departments. Tracey is very personable, positive, and motivated. Since she was in the initial hire group, she had many opportunities to shine as she demonstrated creativity in marketing as well as process improvements for the department. She consistently focused on obtaining a positive outcome for all parties. Additionally, she is reliable and works well with others, even across business units. She is able to handle adversity in stride. Tracey worked the least desirable schedule on the team as she lived in the Eastern Time zone and worked the West coast, however did it without complaining. She provided schedule and coverage alternatives that management eventually approved, but I never heard a complaint from her. She often put in a considerable amount of her own time to make certain the work was completed, but would find efficiencies to streamline future processes. I fully endorse Tracey as a positive addition to any team. Her positive approach and ability to learn quickly will lead her to succeed either as an individual contributor or as a people manager.
