Very much of a changing landscape for GLP-1 insurance coverage for obesity. Supreme Court just made your health insurance for EEs more difficult. Regulations defining what your Employer Health Insurance covers may be challenged, upended, and changed. The Chevron ruling by Supreme Court Court will result in regulations defining coverage and payment to be challenged. What to expect…… Preventive Services under the health plan are already being challenged, and we could end up with different requirements depending on where you live. The No Surprises Act, which aims to protect patients from unexpected bills especially in emergencies will be challenged. President Biden’s efforts to control drug costs through regulation wil be challenged. In theory we could end up with 9 - 11 different set if rules to follow depending on how each court decides. There are more intended or unintended consequences of the POTUS ruling. The proposal in the May 24 Federal Register follows finalization of general rules in April for the PSHB, which is to take over for the FEHB starting in January for USPS employees and retirees. By sharing personal experiences, triumphs, and challenges, leaders can communicate their values and vision in ways that transcend mere facts and figures. This narrative approach not only makes the message more memorable but also evokes empathy, encouraging the audience to reflect deeply and engage actively. Stories establish connections by weaving together shared experiences and emotions, creating immersive worlds that can be experienced visually and vicariously. This deep connection fosters trust and loyalty, essential components of influential leadership. As I look to the future, I imagine the landscape of storytelling will evolve, propelled by technological advancements and shifting audience expectations. Immersive technologies like virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) will, in my opinion, revolutionise how stories are experienced, offering deeply interactive and personalized narratives. Imagine a world where you can step into a storyteller’s journey, interact with their challenges, and witness their decisions unfold in real-time. This innovation holds significant implications for stories told by leaders in socio-economic, socio-cultural, and socio-political spaces, allowing audiences to truly "be in the moment" and experience the emotions that drive thought, action, and behavior. I assume that the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) will further enhance story creation. The synergy between AI and human ingenuity will, I believe, open up new dimensions in storytelling, making narratives more engaging and contemporarily relevant for the audience. There may also be an emergence of collaborative storytelling platforms, allowing diverse communities to contribute to and shape narratives. This collective approach will foster a sense of shared ownership and deepen engagement, as diverse voices come together to create richer, more inclusive stories. Ethical storytelling may take center stage, prioritising the intent to positively influence over the intent to negatively manipulate. Inclusivity and cultural sensitivity will also increasingly become paramount, breaking stereotypes and promoting social harmony by ensuring all voices are heard and represented. Despite these technological advancements, I am convinced the essence of storytelling will remain rooted in human emotions, authenticity, and relatability. The core of impactful storytelling will always be about creating emotional connections and sharing genuine human experiences. I saw this post on Threads and thought I would share it here as it is, in my opinion, spot on. I feel as though I could have written this myself, given how aligned it is with my own personal beliefs in servant leadership. What do you think? It's also kind of awesome as a part-time Bostonian and Celtics fan! 1. Always be authentic, people can sense if you are not (or worse, if you're manipulating them). 2. Practice Ubuntu: "A person is a person through other people," you are where you are because many others helped you, not becuase you are a gifted genius. 3. Lead with empathy. 4. Have humility. 5. Be transparent and honest. 6. Prioritize your team's needs above yourself. 7. Know how to motivate different people in different ways (some need to be pushed, some need to be supported). 8. Focus on what your people can do, not what they can't do. 9. Take blame yourself, give credit to others. 10. Be competent in your own craft; the best leaders are always prepared and outworking everyone else. 11. Under-promise and over-deliver. 12. No one knows it all; listening & incorporating others' views is key for highly functioning teams. 13. Set a high bar, believe you can reach that bar. 14. Don't sacrifice the short term for the long term, but always keep the long run perspective in mind. 15. Never lose your cool; don't blow up at individual mistakes/losses - you'll regret getting too emotional. 16. Personal accountability first: look in the mirror when something goes wrong, not at others. 17. No one is bigger than the team; we can all make a difference but we are also all replaceable. 18. Savor and celebrate small victories / progress - yours and others. 19. Enjoy the process, not just the outcome; be passionate about what you do and have fun with your team. 20. Manage out of joy, not fear. 21. Laugh at yourself; never take yourself too seriously. 22. Regularly reflect on your leadership - don't get too caught up in the day-to-day grind. 23. Stay balanced - don't lose sight of your own family & things that really matter.

Are HSA (Health Savings Accounts) still relevant? HSAs are tax-advantaged accounts that allow you to save for medical expenses. They are linked to high-deductible health plans (HDHPs). Why are they still relevant? 1. They offer triple tax advantages. Contributions are tax-deductible, growth is tax-free, and withdrawals for qualified medical expenses are also tax-free. 2. Unlike Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), HSAs don’t have a "use-it-or-lose-it" policy. The funds roll over from year to year. 3. You can invest your HSA funds. This means your money can grow over time, potentially leading to significant savings for future healthcare costs. 4. After the age of 65, you can use your HSA funds for non-medical expenses. The withdrawals will be taxed as income, similar to a traditional IRA. As of late 2023, there were over $123 billion invested in HSAs.  They’re a powerful tool for saving for healthcare costs.
