    Launched in 2011 as an initiative of the Itasca Project, Greater MSP is an IEDC-accredited economic development organization that has worked collaboratively with many others in the region to bring an incremental 75,000 jobs and $3 billion in incremental investments to the community. In addition, Greater MSP supports many important initiatives to strengthen the region, including Make It. MSP. (talent attraction), Forge North (start-ups), and MBOLD (food sector collaboration). In addition, Greater MSP supports many important initiatives to strengthen the region, including Make It. MSP. (talent attraction), Forge North (start-ups), and MBOLD (food sector collaboration). I was involved with the strategy that identified a need for this organization, was a founding Board member, and have served two terms as Board Chair (2014-2016, and 2018-present). I also served as Co-Chair of the search committee to find the current CEO, Peter Frosch.

In addition, I helped create a structured collaboration between United Way, the Minneapolis Foundation, and St. Paul and Minnesota Foundations which is now working to address criminal justice reform in our community. Its more than 900 students consistently rank highly in a wide range of academic and extra-curricular activities. I have served on the Board of Trustees for 12 years, including five as Board Chair (2016-present). I have helped lead two strategic planning processes for the school (2009-2010 and 2016-2017), served as a Campaign Committee member for the Huss Center for the Performing Arts. I also served as Co-Chair of the Campaign Commitee for the Hugh K. Schilling Math and Science Center, and the simultaneous renovation of the main academic buildings for the Upper and Middle schools. Together these campaigns have raised tens of millions of dollars for the school.

Because of its broad-ranging and substantial impact in the community, the Itasca Project has been profiled in The New York Times, the McKinsey Quarterly, and in Thomas L. Friedman's New York Times best-selling book "Thank You for Being Late," as well as Nelson D. Schwartz's book "The Velvet Rope Economy."
