How can an influencer align their values with their audience to avoid conflict?
The most important term here is consistency. It can be easy to sway your communication to your audience, but switching perspectives can throw them for a loop and cause backlash and confusion. When you're consistent and clear with where you stand, how you communicate, when you post, etc., your followers will feel comfortable and fall into your flow. Communicating your goals and beliefs to your audience will also filter out those who oppose you and build a stronger audience base of supporters!

How can an influencer align their values with their audience to avoid conflict?
Boundaries on social media are scary; it can sometimes feel like there are none, as someone can pop into your DMs and get access to you. It's really important to know your worth first, know where you stand, and moderate your access to social, even as an influencer. Take off days, turn your phone off with family, have a moderator handle your DMs for you as a third party, or even remind your audiences that you're a human being on occasion. They can forget that from behind a screen. Having crisis protocol in place is crucial for all creators because there will inevitably be controversy at some point, so expecting it and having a plan is the best path. A plan removes reactionary emotion and keeps you on track!

How can an influencer align their values with their audience to avoid conflict?
This is an incredible perspective because social content won't always resonate, but it doesn't mean the content won't in the future. It's key to understand that sometimes a post will "go viral" because it was posted at the right time, during the exact news cycle that required it to hit, and not because the content was overly compelling. Still, it is possible to create content you already know will "hit" because you've tested your theories so many times, tweaked your hooks, captions, and music so often that you've found your sweet spot. The fun part of social is that organic is a gamble, and if you learn to play the game and not sweat the content that flops, you'll continue to grow!

How can an influencer align their values with their audience to avoid conflict?
Interestingly, "knowing" does not mean being aware of generic demographics like age, gender, income, etc. It means: "What motivates your audience to respond, take action, subscribe to your newsletter, share the post, etc." If we realize that each follower is a genuine person with emotions, triggers, and perspectives, we can curate content directly for them and not only get a like but also get a full-blown reaction. There is a subtlety to this that so many brands and influencers overlook. It's worth the extra time to read and understand their online activity as if they were a family member.
