During High School I helped coordinate JDRF walks in the Louisville community. This has always been a cause near and dear to my heart as my namesake (Uncle Steve) passed away of juvenile diabetes when he was just 29 yrs old.

During 2011 I decided to run my first marathon and do it while raising money for LLS. I was able to raise $6,200 for the cause during my training and ran the Dublin Marathon in Dublin, Ireland.

This is to date one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. Not only was I able to complete my first marathon while traveling to Europe, but the opportunity to support such an amazing cause while doing it made everything special.

I served a committee chair member for the Over the Edge event in 2014. This was an event raising over $50,000 for the Boy Scouts where patrons got the opportunity to rappel off a hotel in downtown Louisville in exchange for raising $1,000 for the cause.

In addition to being a member of the committee, I raised $1,500 and had the pleasure of such a rappeling experience.

I am serving as a committee chair member again for an Over the Edge event in Louisville. This time the event supports the Boys & Girls club.

We are currently in the process of finding corporate sponsors for the event and engaging with local kids in the program to see who would be interested in rappeling in the event.

We will then find sponsors to raise money for the kids so they can have the experience of a lifetime!
