𝐇𝐢 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞, Attended 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝟏𝟑𝟒 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟐 and was able to solve first 3 problems. Now without any further ado, let’s start with an quick editorial. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀 𝐭𝐨 𝐂 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐟 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝟏𝟑𝟒. 🌟𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 𝐀 : For every 'K' same move of Roku, Chef can win ceil(K / 2) times. How? Well let's say Roku will move like RRR, then Chef can move like PRP and win twice as Paper wraps Rock. 🌟𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 𝐁 : The origin follows a pattern of 1 to 9 for first 9 natural number, then again 1 to 9 for next 9 natural number and so on. It can be visualised like this also, for 1 to 9 answer will be number itself. Now 10 is 1 + 0, 11 is 1 + 1 .......... 18 is 1 + 8 = 9. Again, 19 is 1 + 9 = 10 = 1 + 0 = 1. So you can now calculate the answer based on this observation. 🌟𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 𝐂 : Wasted a lot of time building segment tree for it when later I realised that this could be solved using two multisets only. What the final answer for a query Q will be = sum of maximum (ceil(Q / 2)) number in range - sum of minimum (floor(Q / 2)) numbers in range. So the first multiset will contain first maximum (ceil(Q / 2)) numbers till i in array and second multiset will contain first minimum (floor(Q / 2)) numbers till i in array and you can keep track of sum in both multiset using two variables. I'm seeing a lot of these "expert answers" about frontend development and what does HTML, CSS, and Javascript do. So many of them over complicate it: HTML is content authoring. You are writing a document and should use the tools and formatting available to make it as clearly understood as possible. Most people should be able to write some HTML much like most people can post dross on social networks. However there is a big difference between a coherent, semantically correct HTML doc and some div/span catastrophe. The latter is more like the local racists latest rant with no punctuation, swimming with spelling mistakes, and they've tied themselves in knots over the fact there was once a rainbow flag in Morrisons. CSS is not just about making things "look nice". Yeah it'll make things look better but it's main purpose should be to improve usability, legibility and make your content more understandable. Finally Javascript - Javascript is usually unnecessary and I reckon 90% of the internet could do without it. A lot of the things that Javascript has introduced has made the internet worse, less stable, and less accessible. It's main purpose has been to make frontend development more like a programming discipline, rather than the design discipline it originally was. This is coming from someone who has built their career around frontend development 🤷‍♂️

I’d love to know if anybody has a go-to resource/strategy for mocking technical interviews? I’ve always been a fan of Pramp, and it’s been great for behavioral interviews. But more recently, I’ve been trying it for front-end interviews, and my experience has varied wildly. The worst being, I had to leave a mock interview because my peer just started coding silently for almost thirty minutes and would shrug off any questions I asked 😮   I mostly just need that practice with a real human being. My biggest struggle right now is that my brain acts a bit differently once I’m in a real interview. I overthink things; I try, and usually stumble, to come up with the best solution off the bat, which I recognize is not what you're supposed to do. I think I just need to slowly break down that barrier through consistent practice. Anyway, I hope your having a great Monday, and I wish you all luck in your interviews 💪 #interviewing #pramp

I'm making a website to provide Linux support for Unreal Projects for free! See, I've been using Linux a lot recently and I've found that nearly everything I do (Gaming, Game Dev, C++ Programming) is much more performant and better on Linux. However, it's clear to me that many people/companies don't have the time (and possibly resources) to look into Linux support, so, I'm creating a website to allow people/companies to upload their projects and get them exported to Linux for free! Why? I believe that we should start making games accessible to everyone. In 2024, games should not be locked behind Windows or Proton (a Linux compatibility tool to play Windows games) and we should be doing more to provide games to everyone, no matter what you're on. Everyone should be able to enjoy games without having to fork out extra money for Windows. I'll be providing more information soon (working on some background stuff to ensure everything is pretty secure) so stay tuned! If you're interested, leave a comment! CSS/TS/Javascript UI Mini Software in Meta Horizon! In two days, with help, I’ve made two old Windows style programs for Mobile/VR. If I had to name a topic that isn't typically discussed during job interviews for developer positions but is crucial in every job I've had, I'd probably think first about 𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞. Honestly, after thinking about all my interviews, I can't recall a time when this topic was even touched upon... For every project/product that takes longer than a few months to develop, sooner or later the question arises whether it's time to pause the development of all new features and instead fix things a bit or continue forward. Sometimes this happens due to not quite right choices made at the beginning of the project. Sometimes it's because a programming language or some specialized library becomes unsupported by the operating system. Or perhaps some service that the product depends on will no longer be supported... what to do then with that functionality? Essentially, there can be multiple such situations. And although those who don't know programming or know less may imagine that all those good senior developers can easily program it and everything will work fine forever, the truth is that there's no developer who can accurately predict when some part of a larger product/project will start malfunctioning. Perhaps there are better chances when creating programs for a Windows operating system - because an even larger portion of programs written even 30 years ago still work without major issues, but those chances start dwindling as the product/project becomes more related to the internet or its functionality is directly tied to security or another area where essentially a few parties compete (heh, what tricks those IT specialists don't come up with?!), one trying to find ways to circumvent the solutions of the other side, and then the other side has to fix again - to find better ways. Good developers who are moving towards the senior side only increase the chances that the decisions made at the beginning of product/project development will last longer. But they don't safeguard against it. In an ideal world, there should always be enough time and budget for developers when such problems arise to fix them, but, unfortunately, the truth is that despite better management ideas emerging all the time, foreseeing enough resources for solving such problems is still impossible. If the team working on the project/product is small, usually such problems emerge quite close to the time they need to be solved. Moreover, sometimes several team members have different visions/understandings of how all this should be addressed. And each of those options has its pros and cons. So it can be said that sometimes there may be a clear path on how everything should be addressed and sometimes there may not be, and then the question is "what then?". Although there's no single clear answer on this topic, I would say it's much more useful than those traditional popular interview questions like "list as many programming patterns as possible".

The latest version of Node is now available. Node.js 22 Some of the newest updates include: - V8 JavaScript engine updated to 12.4 - Support for require()ing ESM graphs is now exposed by default - Package authors can now easily allow both CJS and ESM users to consume their package - Added WebSocket client  - node --watch now stable - (A mode in which you can run your node server and it will reload when a change happens to the specified file or path. - Increased the default highWaterMark for streams, providing a performance boost across the board at the cost of slightly higher memory usage. Zod is a cool schema validation library for Typescript. It's more powerful when used with Typescript Generics. #typescript #nodejs #zod

Notably not on this list: Swarm, the tool many game devs are forced into because our industry tends to rely on Perforce more than most. Swarm really is a poor tool, but its better than nothing. Crucible would be my choice, but though it has some level of P4 support it's not trivial to get and keep working and doesn't fully support all P4 features. Review Board is also good, but requires you to have some infrastructure and dev ops set up, its not as plug and play as others. Or just bite the bullet and switch to Git/GitHub, and put in some art asset friendly workflows and processes. That's the direction I'm leaning these days.

I have people ask me what is the main difference between ChatGPT Enterprise and Copilot. Today it’s which model and how many characters you can use, but 2GB upload and GPT Turbo is decent, but you may need vocal and 4o and that’s an important part of the story today. ChatGPT Enterprise - 4o the latest model, GPTs. There is a 3+ month delay for any partners using their latest model it seems M365 Copilot - model GPT Turbo (that’s the latest they can use as of today) and all the enterprise integrated tooling with Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, WhiteBoard, Excel, Forms, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Viva, etc… also supports additional integration to graph, connectors, with a ton of options etc…

There are parts of an OAS that you’ll reuse over and over. You can avoid the problems that come with duplication using the $ref key like I do here to add pagination links to a response body (also another good candidate for $ref).
