Due to Covid outbreak within the northeast region Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), I was reassigned to USP Lewisburg to implement a regional Covid mitigation policy while simultaneously managing a federal prison. Manage staffing/performance, facilities, and supplies and equipment. Administer budget of $69M and supervise staff of 500+. Collaborate on strategic planning with Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Director, North East Regional Director, Health Service Assistant Director, and 119 Wardens. Deliver technical and administrative support, as needed, to other federal agencies. Plan and implement health and wellness programs. Ensure safety and security, including making frequent and irregular inspections of all medical areas. Manage bus operations for the Northeast region while implementing new health care infectious disease travel restrictions (1st in the BOP). Represent Agency and DOJ within Pennsylvania for Agency level workgroups and conferences. Provide written and oral responses, for Departmental, Congressional, litigation and media inquiries.
• Developed first logistical PPE supply chain program for 19 federal institutions on a monthly basis.
• Expanded Telemed programs by 50% to reduce patient movement in an out of the facility.
• Revitalized current recruiting procedures for medical providers and implemented new overtime
procedures to reduce staff overtime. Reduced overtime by 75%.
• Increased and added new mental health pharmacy procedures to enhance impatient medication compliance.
• Prepared for and achieved Joint Commission, ACA/PREA Re-accreditation.
• Following a tornado at another facility, processed 955 inmates within two days through Receiving and Discharge Department, screened by both the Health Services and Psychology Departments. Show less

• Restructured the Nursing department reduced overtime expenditures by 15% while simultaneously increasing staff morale.
• Developed new procedures to allow for emergency antipsychotic medication to be administered to reduce psychotic violent incidents.
• Implemented new telemedicine opportunities with local hospitals to reduce outside medical outings.
• Executed electronic referral process for inmates being considered to group homes and or home confinement.
• Authorized an annual emergency preparedness day to prepare for active shooter scenarios and natural disasters.
• Created and implemented new monitoring procedures for all inpatient individuals prescribed psychiatric medications to ensure medication compliance, resulting in an enhanced treatment outcomes.
• Implemented several cost saving measures to include medical supply and prescription drug initiatives that saw a reduction of 15% within the hospital operating budget.

• Managed multiple million-dollar B&F Projects and ensured all projects were completed on time and within budget.
• Supervised completion of the first Pilot program for chronically ill males within the witness protection program.
• Expanded Telehealth services by including Psychiatry and wound care.
• Increased the overall staffing of the medical, mental health and safety department to 100%.
