When interviewing with a company, be sure to look up the person interviewing you and also try find out about the person who has been in the role you're interviewing for. Find out how long they have worked for the company. You can ask them what it's like working there. Checking references goes both ways.

This is for #ExecutiveAssistants and #PersonalAssistants ONLY!!! Ok so you are eating at a 5 star restaurant, right? At this particular restaurant, you get a quote in advance. The quote is for $350 and comes with a detailed itinerary for the meal. Wowzers, that's cool! But!!! Say there is an option at the end of the quote that states: "For $50 more, we ensure you have the most BEAUTIFUL table in the restaurant, the chef comes to your table and introduces himself and a couple of the courses, and ultimately, desert is something special and off menu." Would your executive jump out of his seat and make it an even $400 for the meal? Or would he pass and choose with the $350 meal? To choose #Savoya, is to choose the best. Some love $50 in their pocket, some know it's better spent. Which meal would your executive choose???

I know the hospitality industry is really only present on Linkedin when they are job hunting but are there any thought leaders creating content to nurture those who are looking to excel - Food and Bevarage Operations or consulting - Recruiting/Staffing or Training - Ownership Insights or Finance - Marketing and Promotions - Private Event Sales and Planning There are a ton of areas underneath this massive industry so if you could point me in the way of those thought leaders I would greatly appreciate it. #ResortFees are crazy high these days and a huge problem for groups, especially when they have negotiated deals for reduced Resort Fees or when they are included as part of the rate. For example, say a group has negotiated a $249 rate that includes the resort fee. It then becomes a challenge when attendees book outside the block, because they saw a rate online for $229, thinking they are getting a better deal than the group rate, not realizing that they have to pay a $50 Resort Fee as well, putting the rate at $279. #eventprofs - what are your thoughts on this? My three point one week 🤣 months as task force were a whirlwind of emotions and experiences that reshaped my life in profound ways. From the moment I stepped into the role, the pace was relentless, with my days filled with back-to-back "missions" that seemed never-ending. Each task brought new challenges and high-stakes situations that tested my limits, both physically and emotionally. The pressure was immense, and there were moments when I felt overwhelmed by the weight of responsibilities. Often dealing with crises that required split-second decisions, and the consequences of any mistake were daunting. Yet, I discovered a strength within myself that I never knew existed. The experiences I had during these three months or so were as varied as they were intense. I learned to honed my problem-solving skills under extreme pressure. More importantly, I gained a deeper understanding of human resilience and the power of teamwork. Each task, whether it was a success or a setback, taught me valuable lessons about perseverance, empathy, and the importance of staying calm under fire. In the quiet moments, I found time to reflect on my journey. I realized that the person I was at the start of this experience was different from the one emerging at the end. I had grown in confidence, developed a stronger sense of purpose, and cultivated a profound respect for the people I worked alongside. These three months were some of the most *demanding* of my life, but they were also the most *transformative*. I emerged from the task force not just as a more skilled professional, but as a better person, equipped with lessons and memories that will stay with me forever. #betterme #lessonlearned #anotherlevel #anotherexperience #careerlife

Spoke to a few hotel developers over the past week that are transitioning into Self Storage development. Hotel operational costs in California continue to rise narrowing profit margins. Selecting an employer is just as important as being the employee in the selection process. Often people are taken advantage of during negotiations for being unemployed or under employed. Employers will ask why do you want to work for them, and this is one of my favorite questions to answer. Employees will fade away from mentioning schedule flexibility in order to manage their busy family life. Accepting employment is always a two way street that needs to be a fit for both parties. Limit turnover by working with your candidates, a happy associate performs at a significantly higher standard.
